Oops I did it again… I never seem to realise that I’m wearing all one brand until I start writing a post!

Oh well, here is my OOTD:

White top: M&S

Navy treggings: also M&S

(Strap top underneath: M&S..)

White plimsolls: Office

Necklace: Anthropologie (described by one of my best friends as “the ugliest necklace she had ever seen in her entire life”. :-p  See my post “Divisive” for how much I mind…)

Lilac nails: Revlon “Charming”, I love this colour. My girlfriends said it made me look (even) pastier than normal but I have also had compliments on it from cute guys so… (Ok ok, one cute guy… and he was trying to sell me something…. but still, he clearly meant it.) I think it’s really pretty, plus it lasts quite a while before chipping, so I’m sold.

For work, I changed into flats from Office. (I know it’s ridiculous to go to work in flats only to change into different flats but I just can’t walk for long in ballet shoes!)

The earrings are from Dorothy Perkins, a few years ago.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

I was in Aldo the other day and fell completely in love with all their sunglasses. I tried on practically every pair, and it almost killed me to leave empty handed but I was trying to be good! (Tbh, I’ll probably go back… What?! I get brownie points for trying… right? :-p ) They are all £10, and in store they were 2 for £16! (I love cheap sunglasses due to my rather annoying penchant for sitting on them or forgetting they are on my head and leaning over railings!)

Aren’t they cute?! I don’t usually spend much time in Aldo so I was very pleasantly surprised! Their jewellery is nice too, lots of clean shiny gold…

Oh dear.

:-O

Happy Friday and have a great long weekend everybody! 😀

I just finished reading “Americanah” and really enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down- it was interesting, entertaining and really well written without being pretentious. And I totally fell in love with the characters!

I also looked up a couple of songs that were mentioned in the book and now cannot stop singing them… I would totally recommend looking up Yori Yori by Bracket and Obi Mu O by Obiora Obiwon ft Guchi Young.

I threw on this Primark necklace to jazz up a boring work outfit and it really made a difference to how put together I felt. Statement jewellery for President!

Hope everyone’s having a good week!

These were my OOTDs of last Saturday…

For lunch: Asos maxi dress, Asos backpack, Office plimsolls, rose earrings from Tiara in Athens

For a friend’s birthday night out: M&S treggings, Urban Outfitters strap top, River Island sequinned jacket, Primark shoes, very (veeery) old Claire’s Accessories maroon leopard print mini-backpack (so glad I never threw this out! I am loving it recently!), equally old fake tattoo necklace, also from Claire’s, also something I’m ridiculously pleased to be wearing again! The yellow earrings were a gift but I realised when I got home that I’d lost one! 😦

Disclaimer: my hair actually looked quite nice on Saturday, dammit! The club we went to (Drink Shop Do, amazing music, super fun night, no ventilation) was so hot that my hair just went haywire. All my friends and I were in the bathrooms trying to figure out how much clothing we could remove without getting arrested, everyone was just so hot and, ahem, “glowy”! Note to self: take pictures before leaving the house…

Image

On Sunday, I had decided to take inspiration from this outfit that I’d seen in Grazia, as I had similar items in my own wardrobe. Unfortunately I learned (what I already knew, grr!) that sleeping in until just before I have to leave the house is a terrible idea for me, as I didn’t like the outfit on me at all but had no time to change!

Top: Primark, Skirt: vintage (aka my Mum’s!), necklace: Peacocks, sunglasses: River Island

I think the top was definitely too long, and the overall effect was quite shapeless. And, as ever, I was surprised to discover that going out when I’m not happy with my outfit makes me a moody cow! Is that just me?? Are there other weird people out there? (Please say yes!)

These are my Outfits Of The Last Bank Holiday Weekend:

Image

Top: All the jewels! Most of them are things I’ve had for a while, and are from Accessorize or are vintage/gifts. The sunnies are from River Island

OOTDs:

Saturday BBQ: Sequin top from Next (old, although they always have a nice line in sequinned tees I find). New Asos “Ridley” jeans. I have trouble buying jeans (who doesn’t?) but these have a lot of stretch which I find more flattering on me and they come up nice and high (I hate surprise crack attacks. Again, who doesn’t?!) so are definitely my current favourites. (Although I ordered them in black too (same size) and they were tiny!) Booties from Office.

Sunday lunch with the fam: H&M cardi, pinky/maroon M&S trousers (These confuse me so much as I bought them in blue at the same time and the blue ones are super-comfy while these ones are trying to kill me! Why does this keep happening to me?!), Primark leopard print shoes.

Sunday night pub quiz: New white tee from Forever 21, Asos “Ridley” jeans again, neon green Converse (I used to wear Converse trainers all the time, I miss them!)

Cinco de Mayo margarita night with friends: Old GAP black shirt, Asos denim shorts, M&S tights, Office “Cecilia” flats

Bottom: Bags and shoes! The raffia bowling bag was a gift that my 3 year old niece picked out for me in the Philippines! (She has excellent taste! Must get it from her aunt…. 😛 ) And the blue bag was bought at a market stall in Florence.

Image

Pink earrings: H&M

Pink & green earrings: Asos, Daisy necklace: Brooklyn Flea Market

Huuugely heavy diamanté and perspex earrings: Accessorize

Gold, colourful earrings: Accessorize I think, necklaces and rings are all vintage/gifts. The gold and coral necklace is one of my favourites. My Dad gave it to me as a gift for passing my GSCEs (a million years ago!) and I think it looks like something a mermaid would wear 🙂

So, on the 3 day long bank holiday weekend I wore:

7 bracelets

5 rings

4 pairs of shoes

4 pairs of earrings

3 necklaces

2 bags

& 1 pair of sunnies

My partridge was in the shop.

😛

Have a good week everyone!

Dress: Asos

Leggings: Asda

Shoes: Primark

I am kind of obsessed with this dress. I have it (with shoulders) in 3 colours already and when I saw this version I had to add it to the collection! It’s super comfy (good for work) and the cut-outs make it just a little bit sexy (good for after work :-p). Plus I’m excited to wear it with a patterned shirt underneath when it gets cold again!

I don’t normally wear leggings with shoes, I prefer them with boots so you can’t tell they’re leggings but it’s too warm for boots and too cold for bare legs so I thought I’d give this a try. I think it looks ok and it’s a lot comfier than tights but I’m still undecided! Any thoughts? Are leggings still an acceptable look?

ImageThe bracelet is vintage and the earrings were a gift!

Image

ImageThe star ring is from Whistles. I think I’ve said this before but I’m always pleasantly surprised by how reasonable Whistles jewellery is compared to its clothes! As you can see, the ring has tarnished a lot (it’s a bit more rose gold than yellow gold now) but I still like it!

Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the long weekend, fellow Englishfolk! Woohooo! 😀

So, as I mentioned a little while back, a couple of weekends ago I was dragged out of my comfort zone and deposited in the *shock horror* countryside for a friend’s party.

It wasn’t all tassels and tiaras though, we also explored the surrounding towns a bit, namely Painswick and Stroud. My conclusion? Painswick was much prettier but Stroud had better shops…

Examples of said nice shops include Made in Stroud, which sells handmade products by small local businesses. There were lots of things I Iiked, but in the end I managed to restrain myself and come away emptyhanded!

We also popped into a shop called Strangeness & Charm Vintage, where I bought this ring, which I love because it’s a different colour from every angle:

ImageThe proprietress really knew her stuff and was very friendly, I could have spent a lot longer (and a lot more money!) in there!

And here are some pictures I took in Painswick, just ’cause it’s pretty!

Happy sheep!

ImageMe, on some enormous hill overlooking Catbrain (yes really) quarry. Wandering why the hell I’m a.) there and b.) holding a massive stick with my friend’s scarf tied around it. (I have weird friends.) Outfit – Scarf: Zara, Jacket: Primark, Jeans: Monsoon, Booties: Office.

ImageThe Royal Oak, a pub we went to that had the most delicious cheesy chips!

(We were all too chicken to touch Doris!)

So, pretty villages, good shopping and chips? The countryside might not be so bad after all!

And I managed not to offend anyone with my huge overuse of the word “quaint”.

Result!

Sheep escape!

(Don’t worry, my animal-lover friend reunited it with its mum!)
