Then I got carried away playing with the filters on my phone (which I’ve only recently discovered and am still excited by):

Goldponcho

I tried on this gold poncho from Ruly’s as a joke when I was on holiday in Lisbon and unexpectedly adored it (I love when that happens!). Here are 2 ways I wore it this summer…

Left: with M&S treggings, Office shoes and a handbag bought at a flea market in Florence.

Right: with an M&S dress, Accessorize flip-flops and my sister trying to distract me!

I then got carried away trying to see how many different ways I could wear it…

Goldponchotwirl

Fwoofy dress + tassels = ….Must….Twirl….

I’m trying to figure out how to wear it for winter as, even in summer, it was pretty nippy, what with a.)being more hole than actual material, and b.) looking extremely stupid with a cardi on top!

Hope everyone’s having a good day!

Umm, how cute is my new phone case?!

It was £15 from Skinny Dip London. I wanted all their cases actually but couldn’t resist this one! I love that it’s a cheeky rip-off of Moschino, but without being a copy or the real deal, which has been slightly overdone by now. Plus, I love that I can always rely on the high street to steal the good ideas from high fashion and then make them better by adding an awesome slogan!

(And selling them for way less too, obviously!)

😀

Of course, the sad thing about getting my old phone stolen (other than the actual fact of it being stolen, and losing all my Lisbon photos, which I was very sad about indeed) is that, when I got my new phone, I upgraded, and none of my cool cases fit my new one!

The one it was wearing when it was heartlessly abducted was one my sister had had especially made for me, with an in-joke on it that always made me smile. 😦

But here, for one last hurrah, before they get tossed out (or, as is more likely, take up space in a dusty corner of my room forever, never to be used again but hoarded because I have emotional issues with throwing things out) are the rest of my previous cases:

I bought the Mark Francis one (Made in Chelsea, for those who don’t share my epic taste in TV!) for my bf, knowing full well he’d refuse to use it and I could steal it! It’s from Toxic Fox.

The “Understated is Overrated” one was a gift, and another of my life mottoes! It’s faux Kate Spade, bought in Singapore, I believe.

The penguin was my first phone case, a gift from my bf from Case Mate. It has flappy feet! And a haughty expression! The best combination, I’m sure you’ll agree…

And the sparkly one was another gift from Singapore, I always got loads of comments and compliments on it!

Goodbye my friends, it’s hard to die…

:-p

Have a great weekend everyone!

Trying on stuff in Zara (I know, I know, I shouldn’t go abroad to go to shops we have at home but still..). I didn’t buy the dress on the left, but I did buy the one on the right 🙂

My niece requested that I learn to make loom bands. I didn’t realise you actually needed a loom (yes, I’m special like that), so I was only able to make the simplest version, which was this. It made me look tanned so I made myself one and wore it too! The bracelets are vintage (stolen from my parents, they have their names on them).

EvilEyeMani

I decided to try this evil eye mani after seeing it in a Maison Bentley Style post. I loved it but it took about 2 and a half hours. The white varnish alone required about 4 coats. Also, my niece thought the eyes were snails! Stayed pretty well though.

Summer 2014 2072

This dress is about 20 years old I think, I stole it off my sister in law. The label says it’s lingerie though, so maybe I wasn’t supposed to wear it out! This dress is also my main excuse for never throwing anything away, as I kept it in my cupboard for years, trying it on occasionally, and it never suited me. One day I put it on, and loved it. I now wear it all the time in summer, or in winter with leggings and boots. Hoarding for President!

Summer 2014 2251

The Athinaion cinema, the last remaining cinema in Athens to display hand painted movie posters, still painted by the same man who has done them for over 60 years. He’s in his eighties now and this prompted a really fascinating conversation with the taxi driver, who was driving us when I took this photo, about dying arts. The driver had trained as a goldsmith, an art that had been passed down to him through several generations. He told us how sad it made him that he had no one to pass it on to, and that while everything can be done with computers and machines now, it didn’t change the fact that a craft had died. Would a machine know the exact length an earring stem needs to be to hold a specific weight earring whilst not hurting the woman, he asked? It was a really interesting conversation, and reminded me that people are never just what they seem.

Swimsuit: Marks & Spencer. I looove this swimsuit, I love the pattern, plus it has a built-in underwire- score!; Shorts: Warehouse; Bag: Accessorize;
