Ok, mini-haul may be overstating. I bought 2 things.

I was in Sublime looking for a present for someone the other day, and of course left with one thing for them and two things for me…

I bought this adorable swing necklace, and a pair of little earrings that I thought were cute. I always go a bit mad in that shop as once I exerted my will-power and didn’t buy something I liked and have regretted it ever since! (Can I get a #firstworldproblems?!)

Everyone I have shown these to has had a fit that the earrings are not placed centrally on the card…

Hope you’re having a good day! (Despite the overwhelming Mondayness that Mondays always seem to have.)

Goldponcho

I tried on this gold poncho from Ruly’s as a joke when I was on holiday in Lisbon and unexpectedly adored it (I love when that happens!). Here are 2 ways I wore it this summer…

Left: with M&S treggings, Office shoes and a handbag bought at a flea market in Florence.

Right: with an M&S dress, Accessorize flip-flops and my sister trying to distract me!

I then got carried away trying to see how many different ways I could wear it…

I’m trying to figure out how to wear it for winter as, even in summer, it was pretty nippy, what with a.)being more hole than actual material, and b.) looking extremely stupid with a cardi on top!

Hope everyone’s having a good day!

I was in Aldo the other day and fell completely in love with all their sunglasses. I tried on practically every pair, and it almost killed me to leave empty handed but I was trying to be good! (Tbh, I’ll probably go back… What?! I get brownie points for trying… right? :-p ) They are all £10, and in store they were 2 for £16! (I love cheap sunglasses due to my rather annoying penchant for sitting on them or forgetting they are on my head and leaning over railings!)

Aren’t they cute?! I don’t usually spend much time in Aldo so I was very pleasantly surprised! Their jewellery is nice too, lots of clean shiny gold…

Oh dear.

:-O

Happy Friday and have a great long weekend everybody! 😀

ImageI went and saw Beyoncé at the O2 a couple of weeks ago. As ever, she was magnificent. Truly awe-inspiring. A glorious, gorgeous reminder that everything I do is actually a little bit crap. Lol :-p

I wore:

– Splotchy dress from ASOS

– Sequinned jacket – Topshop

-Black tights and booties – M&S

(Excuse the posey posing, I took these after the show, when I might have been a little tipsy…)

Image

– The What would Beyoncé do?! badge was a freebie at a comedy show of the same name last year. (V funny!)

– BCBGeneration make-your-own bracelet

-Teardrop ring – Mikey (I miss Mikey, does it still exist?!)

– Mahoosive earrings – I bought these when Crazy in Love came out (HOW was that 11 years ago?!), as she had a similar pair in the video. I don’t remember where I got them from, I just remember scouring the internet for them (this was long before I had a computer of my own and before internet shopping was a thing that I did) because I simply had to have them. I wore them every time I went anywhere for years! I still love them, actually. And they are not as monstrously heavy as one might imagine. (I mean, they’re not feathers but I have worse!)

I never really realised how much of a fashion influence Beyoncé is/has been on me until I wrote this post, but this is what I wore at the weekend, inspired by her in the video for XO (seriously obsessed with her white tank/jeans/all-the-gold look!):

???????????????????????????

(Rad T-Shirt from Express in NY, jeans from Monsoon, gold necklaces and earrings are mostly vintage and/or gifts)

And here I am, over a decade ago, embarrassing myself whilst channelling her other Crazy in Love outfit at a fancy dress party:

A 2014 bracelet and charm (both gifts from my parents in Athens :-D) to ensure that my arms and I are fashionably ready for 2014!

Hope your new year is off to a great start!

Imageposer, moi?

Friday night and it was time to pour it up

So, I confess that for Hallowe’en I totally considered going as Miley Cyrus because, like, lol. But problem a.)

16290-paris-hilton-attended-a-halloween-party-592x0-1

Paris Hilton (and half the known world) had the same idea.

Problem b.) I hate spending money on Hallowe’en costumes and the only way to avoid that would be to wear a different one of her looks and…

Problem c.) I am not going out in public wearing nothing but flesh coloured underwear and a foam finger.

So, no then…

But all is not lost. While rooting through my cupboard I found these shorts that I bought for the summer but then never wore because they ride so far up my extremities that they really should have bought me dinner first. Not ideal for a day at the beach. Anyway, thanks to their itty bittyness and grungy camo print, they had become known as my Rihanna shorts. And that is why I decided to go dressed as everyone’s favourite bad gal this year.

I didn’t want to do a specific look of hers as, once again, that would probably involve buying a costume. So I decided to abide by the spirit of Rihanna, if not the letter of Rihanna (ie. look generally badass and scantily clad). All I needed to buy was a pen for her tattoos (my friend suggested I use a sharpie and wash it off with vodka but given that she hasn’t actually ever done that herself, she just “thinks” it will come off, I decided against…), some blonde hair dye spray and some massive hoops.

I ended up with red hair dye spray as apparently blonde doesn’t exist (fortunately Rihanna has had every possible hair colour/style) and as I couldn’t find a tattoo pen, my friend did the tattoos using a combination of liquid and pencil eyeliner, which stayed on all night. (I was amazed, I swear that never happens when I actually wear it on my eyes! And I got loads of compliments on them from people who thought they were real.) I also bought Revlon Black Cherry lipstick, which I figure I’ll wear all winter and I found big gold “Bad” hoops in Claire’s Accessories, which are insanely tacky but I kind of love.
