BDAY6It’s that time of year again- the time when the lure of presents and my horror of becoming a grown up wage war against each other, leaving me a conflicted and confused bystander.

So far however, the presents are winning! 😀

BDAYYes, it’s my birthday today and my adorable nieces, who share my affinity for all things colourful and sparkly, gave me this box of jewels hand picked by themselves from Claire’s Accessories. (Not entirely by themselves, I hope. Being 5 and 3 years old, I’ll assume my sister was there with them. And that she paid.)

Anyway, how spoilt am I?! 😀 I decided to wear the most blingalicious one today, in honour of my agedness.

BDAY2

I also wore my tiara  (so sue me, I wear tiaras on my birthday! And on Oscar night. And my nameday. And whenever I wear a robe because that makes me feel crazy glamourous. And sometimes just when I’m feeling blue.) for breakfast but took it off before leaving for work. 😦 Now that I’m old, I have to conform to society’s interpretation of what makes a person seem “normal” and “sane”.

Harrumph.

BDAY NAILS

I painted my nails for NYE, in Ciaté’s Raspberry Collins with a layer of Rom-Com Rouge red glitter over the top. It’s not the most mature, but I like it!

I’m at work today (grr) but going out for dinner tonight (yay). I’ll probably change into what I wore last Valentine’s Day for that, as it’s funky and I can wear my most stretchy trousers with it. Steak and cheesecake here I come!

Happy New Year everyone! Here’s hoping 2016 is the best yet!

I take pictures of so much stuff that I like/buy/am inspired by with the intention of blogging about it here, but invariably end up getting distracted/procrastinating/finding something else I want to blog about first. So I thought I’d just bite the bullet and share them already in one long, rambly post. Before earrings become obsolete and no one cares anymore. (Perish the thought!)…

I bought the sheep earrings from Joy as a Christmas present to myself, and am obsessed with how cute they are!

This jumper is from Rad.co – I ordered loads of things from there and definitely want to do a whole post for them!

I went and saw Bryan Adams at The 02 in November. My sister was a massive fan of his growing up so I became one out of necessity! He was amazing, kept it all really simple- just him, his band and some black and white images on a screen behind him. We screamed like teenagers!

I wore: Asos Curve off the shoulder jumper, black M&S treggings, Asda watermelon handbag (that was a gift from my nieces :-D), Office booties and Topshop earrings. The necklace is just some chains that I bought at a craft shop in Monastiraki, held together with a safety pin.

I tried to fwoof my hair up and get an 80s rock chick vibe going… Unfortunately my hair always falls flat after about 10 minutes!

Concert tees are my favourite…

This little tag was on my birthday card from my brother… I think he was trying to tell me something!

And speaking of my birthday…

My friend got me these monstrosities-

PPs

Period panties. FFS. How is this a thing?! My favourite thing about these was that I opened them in front of my father, and his face as he tried to work them out was hilaaarious!

Adorable Oliver Bonas bag, for when you’re feeling a bit Pharrell…

I finally got around to watching the Asprey’s documentary (“Inside Asprey: Luxury by Royal Appointment”, which aired last summer) and thought these torso glasses were really cool. Sorry for the rubbish quality of the photo- it is just a picture of my TV on pause.

Flamingo fever!

There’s a lot of Marks and Spencer in this outfit- the flamingo top and pearls were gifts from my sister for Christmas and my birthday. The Love bracelet was also a gift from M&S a couple of years ago.

The peacock earrings are not from M&S, they were a gift from a friend in Birmingham. I actually just put them on as I liked the green and pink together – the bird theme was inadvertent!

photo 4

Monsoon jumper- this actually has a detachable feather collar that I removed so as to limit the birdiness!

I love that this top is long enough that the pattern still shows under the jumper. (Although, 2 elderly people in my vicinity commented on the fact that the “youth” never tuck their shirts in!)

You can get away with a boring black outfit with enough bling!

Necklace and big ring: Peacocks

Earrings: Mikey

Small wedding-y type ring and bracelets: gifts from various shops in Athens, I think.

I have made the executive decision that I am not, as yet, too old for pig tails!

(This may be misguided but I don’t care. :-p)

photo 3 (50)

This made me chuckle, I don’t really know why, I just liked it! (Probably the same reason I like the current trend for those really rude and sweary cross-stich embroideries – I like the contrast of something cute, i.e. a teacup with something offensive!) From Sublime.

I love chandeliers, and this one in One Moorgate Place was a nice one.

I’ve been experiencing non-buyer’s remorse ever since seeing this M&S cushion and deciding against it a couple of months ago. I finally bought it! It just makes me smile 🙂

(I swear I’m not a sheep fetishist! :-/ I don’t think…)

Happy Friday everyone, and have a great weekend!

2015 charms

Every year, my parents bring my sisters and I good luck charms for the new year. This year we all got the above bracelets and the little gold pendants with the tassel, both of which I love! In Greece, the New Year’s Day tradition is that each family buys a cake (a Vassilopitta), in which there is hidden a coin or a charm (or sometimes both!) and whoever gets the charm in their slice will have good luck all year. This year my eldest sister won (she always wins…) the pendant on the right.

In other news…..

It’s my birthday today! 😀

I’m at work so am wearing a black top and black treggings (my base for about 90% of my outfits), with my M&S leopard print soft jacket with power shoulders.

Birthday leopard(Ok, they’re not mega power shoulders but it’s my only item of clothing with shoulderpads so I feel very 80s in it!)

LEOPARD

I was wearing emerald green earrings when I left the house this morning…

photo 1 earrings

…but then I met one of my best friends for lunch and now I’m wearing these gorgeous earrings (that happened to match all the other jewellery I’m wearing today perfectly!) instead….

photo 2 (41)

(Both pairs of earrings are from Sublime.)

photo 2 (40)

I have a really good feeling about this year actually (ok, I say that most years but I really mean it this time!), I think 2015 is going to be a good one! 😀

Happy New Year everyone!

Presents

The downside of having a large family…

🙂

Happy Monday everyone! (If ever such a thing was possible, it would be the Monday before Christmas! Or, if Christmas isn’t your bag, then the Monday that precedes a 4 day weekend!)

Update: WordPress just informed me that this is my 100th post! (Yay me!) And how fitting that it should be an ode to joy and rampant consumerism… :-p

Advents

…my sister gave to meee…The coolest, most awesome advent calendar the world has ever seeeen. Ever.

(I see a Christmas No.1 in my future.)

Advent tree

Out of the blue, my fabulous sister presented me with this insanely cool advent calendar from Ciaté, with windows that you open to reveal a different nail varnish every day!

Advent

It’s a Mini Mani Manor! And kinda looks like I want my house to look someday. (Complete with giant pink tree and person sized nail varnishes.)

(The tree is from Paperchase.)

Advent close up

Days 1 to 5…

Spoiler alert: I tried not to look too closely at the back when I took this next picture, as I like to be surprised. If you have this advent calendar: look away now!

Advent back

It even has little quotes behind all the windows 🙂

Advent quote

True dat!

Happy advent everyone! 😀

Umm, how cute is my new phone case?!

It was £15 from Skinny Dip London. I wanted all their cases actually but couldn’t resist this one! I love that it’s a cheeky rip-off of Moschino, but without being a copy or the real deal, which has been slightly overdone by now. Plus, I love that I can always rely on the high street to steal the good ideas from high fashion and then make them better by adding an awesome slogan!

(And selling them for way less too, obviously!)

😀

Of course, the sad thing about getting my old phone stolen (other than the actual fact of it being stolen, and losing all my Lisbon photos, which I was very sad about indeed) is that, when I got my new phone, I upgraded, and none of my cool cases fit my new one!

The one it was wearing when it was heartlessly abducted was one my sister had had especially made for me, with an in-joke on it that always made me smile. 😦

But here, for one last hurrah, before they get tossed out (or, as is more likely, take up space in a dusty corner of my room forever, never to be used again but hoarded because I have emotional issues with throwing things out) are the rest of my previous cases:

photo 1 (7)

I bought the Mark Francis one (Made in Chelsea, for those who don’t share my epic taste in TV!) for my bf, knowing full well he’d refuse to use it and I could steal it! It’s from Toxic Fox.

The “Understated is Overrated” one was a gift, and another of my life mottoes! It’s faux Kate Spade, bought in Singapore, I believe.

The penguin was my first phone case, a gift from my bf from Case Mate. It has flappy feet! And a haughty expression! The best combination, I’m sure you’ll agree…

And the sparkly one was another gift from Singapore, I always got loads of comments and compliments on it!

Goodbye my friends, it’s hard to die…

:-p

Have a great weekend everyone!

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!! And to stave off the horror of turning the ripe old age of 27 I am wearing:

-A tiara. Obvs. (Although technically I am not wearing it today as I am at work and, allegedly, a grown-up. I did wear it all weekend though :-D)

-My BCBGeneration bracelet (previously seen here)

-A very bright pink shirt (no one’s ignoring me today) from Express in New York, which was an amazing shop with H&M-esque prices (and everything was 40% off the day I went so I bought a million things!)

-My trusty M&S treggings

-My short-sleeved Monsoon jumper which I like to think adds a dash of Clueless to all my shirts

-A gold leafy hairband that I got for my birthday (which arrived with a big sign on top telling me that I’m going to see Beyonce in March! Woo, thanks guys! It later transpired that my genius friend had accidently cut said sign out of what she thought was a scrap envelope but turned out to contain her brother’s university degree! Oops.)

-My new glittery shoes from Office that I bought in the boxing day sales

-Mid-life crisis: model’s own

Hope you all have as great a day as I intend to!

A 2014 bracelet and charm (both gifts from my parents in Athens :-D) to ensure that my arms and I are fashionably ready for 2014!

Hope your new year is off to a great start!
