Ok, I realise that December is technically winter but it is weirdly mild here in London (for which I am grateful, weathergods! Don’t smite me!), which means I can still get away with wearing my favourite autumn outfit! 🙂

Coat: Monsoon

Long sleeved t-shirt, treggings and shoes: Marks & Spencer

Necklace and bangle: Accessorize

Scarf: Zara

I really do love wearing this outfit- it’s super simple (all black + colourful coat = no thought necessary), it’s comfy, it’s work or bar appropriate, and the necklace makes it seem a lot more exciting than it really is. 😀

(I’ve had the necklace for years and it is so handy, I’ve worn it to fancy events with a black strapless dress and often wear it to travel. Maximum impact- minimum effort!)

Me on holiday in Italy a couple of years ago (with an H&M cardi that I also wear too much):

Yes, I took leaning photos in front of the leaning Tower of Pisa. I would be embarrassed but the ones I took pretending to hold it up were way worse…

I hope everyone is having a good week!

In honour of World Book Day, here is a picture I took whilst reading recently, as I simply couldn’t remember the last time I had read a book with pictures in it!

Book: “Slaughterhouse 5, or The Children’s Crusade” by Kurt Vonnegut.

Have a good day, I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’re reading at the moment! 🙂

Ok, mini-haul may be overstating. I bought 2 things.

I was in Sublime looking for a present for someone the other day, and of course left with one thing for them and two things for me…

I bought this adorable swing necklace, and a pair of little earrings that I thought were cute. I always go a bit mad in that shop as once I exerted my will-power and didn’t buy something I liked and have regretted it ever since! (Can I get a #firstworldproblems?!)

Everyone I have shown these to has had a fit that the earrings are not placed centrally on the card…

Hope you’re having a good day! (Despite the overwhelming Mondayness that Mondays always seem to have.)

Peplum B2

Top: Marks & Spencer

Necklace: Primark

Shoes: Office

I wore this peplum top to work last week, and then out for drinks after. I always pair it with a biggish necklace, as it’s very high-necked for me and the necklace helps break it up.

(Please excuse me with the black and white photos etc, I have only just got a new phone with these functions and I am still in the “ooh everything looks so pretty in black and white or with one of those filters that makes everything a cool colour” phase!)

(Also, yes, I took a torso selfie whilst on the phone at work. I am that person.)

peplum jacket

This was another way I wore the top a while ago, with my Peacocks pink sparkly necklace, my Warehouse leather jacket and detachable Asos fur collar. Bit more girly/flashy.

Have a great week! 🙂

The Styletterie

Do you believe in love at first sight? I didn’t. Perhaps you will think me shallow for finding my soulmate in a necklace. My response to that is simple: I don’t need you. I have my necklace.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I spent the whole of last Sunday in Bicester shopping village. Four years ago, I had gone to Bicester with my boyfriend and seen a pair of Vivienne Westwood earrings that I loved. I didn’t buy them as I decreed them too expensive but the heaviness of buyer’s remorse has lingered in my heart ever since. (Translation: I’ve been going on about them for four years. My boyfriend rues the day Ms. Westwood was born.) So, this year I went for my annual mosey into Vivienne Westwood to see if they had anything similar and stopped in my tracks, all thoughts of tacky hoop earrings forgotten. It was perfect. It was beautiful. It was love.

And it was about 5 times more expensive than any other item of jewellery I have ever bought.

I wrenched myself out of there and moped desultorily around a few more shops, picking up accessories and casting them aside for what was the point? I had tasted desire. I had known love. I dismissed everything I saw, weeping and bemoaning the fact that life had lost all meaning. I wailed and beat my breast. The shop assistants asked me to leave after that. A few more shops and several dirty looks later, my friends took me and threw me back into Vivienne’s arms. I touched it. I tried it on. I made my boyfriend take pictures of me wearing it as though these were my last moments with a dying relative. And when the time came to say goodbye, I couldn’t.

Reader, I bought it.

And hot damn do I love it!!!! 😀
