The best thing about Primark is that it’s so cheap you can always justify a wild card (or two :-p)…

Hence this look.

I thought this was a dress at first, but was really pleased when I discovered that it was actually a weird apron top thing, with slits up the side. It actually makes it much easier to wear!

I was concerned that it might be a bit too young for me, but decided that life’s too short to worry about this crap…. and anyway, I could always blame it on the hip hop.

photo 1 (38)

I wore it with M&S treggings, M&S shoes, old hoop earrings that I used to wear every day as a teenager, and a necklace that my Dad gave me. I also carried my new H&M fringed backpack (that’s pretty similar to the Topshop one I was lusting over a while back!) that one of my sisters bought me. (Yes, I have awesome family members) 🙂

My old-enough-to-vote black leather Warehouse jacket made its first appearance of the year, and I was ready for a wild, crazy night out, as befitting a hip-hop fuelled yoof! (AKA I went for fondue with some friends and was in bed by 11.) 😀

Casual wkend3

Easter Bank Holiday weekend. It was a pretty casual 4 days for me as my family and I celebrate Greek Easter which was a week later this year, so I didn’t have any special plans and got to just chill. 🙂

I went to Covent Garden with my bf to return some shoes and have some Shake Shack. I was going to change before heading to a friend’s in the evening for a games night but didn’t have time (too many cheese fries!). I wore:

– Leopard print Coke tee from Primark

– Black M&S treggings

– Sequinned Converse trainers (also seen here).

– My sister’s silver and turquoise earrings.

– Turquoise bracelet from Suite Blanco in Lisbon

– and bright pink Wet n’ Wild lipstick to jazz it up

To walk to my sister’s on an unexpectedly lovely day I wore:

– White tee from Forever 21

– Navy M&S treggings

– Earrings and bracelet from Suite Blanco in Lisbon

Backpack from Primark

– Nike trainers

For a pub visit in the evening with some friends:

– Black tee from Ruly’s in Lisbon

– Black M&S treggings

– New black Forever 21 handbag

– Topshop earrings

– New Asos ‘Evie’ clumpy heels, that I ummed and ahhed over for so long that I think I probably missed the deadline for sending back anyway! They are a bit massive and clodhopper-y, but they are also surprisingly comfortable. A couple of my friends have the slightly lower, more elegant Topshop version but both say that they are hugely painful. My boyfriend hates them but my friends and sister all liked them… So, they’re keepers!

To play frisbee in the park with my nephews:

So dreamy….

I was an almost-teenager when Titanic came out and it was practically the law to fancy Leo.

Not that it was hard…

:-p

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend (and last weekend, which felt very short!)

Have a great week!

I don’t know what it is but I reeaaally want these shoes….. I KNOW that I will never wear them, I literally can not think of a single occasion where these shoes would be the right shoe for me, but they’re just. so. funky!

I may have to content myself with these instead…

(They’re cheaper too. And I might actually be able to walk in them.

But I’m still bummed! ;-p)

Both shoes are from Asos.

Hope you’re having a great week!

Kids: shopping online at work is BAD.  Stay in school.

…I saw a girl (with a cool 90s bob and all black outfit) carrying this one last night and had to ask where she got it from. (Don’t worry – backpack rehab starts on Monday).

It’s from Topshop and I love it – but it’s £100 which, try as I might, I just can’t justify spending on a hairy, tasselly backpack that I don’t *technically* need!

*sigh*

When are the sales again?

So, it’s only mid-morning and I have already been breathlessly informed by my sister and boyfriend that my life is finally complete- British company Metail has launched an actual version of Cher’s virtual closet! We can officially all feel like the coolest Betty of the 90s! That is so dope!

I’m like, totally stoked – can you tell?!!

Friday 90s music night in Camden: 90s-esque floral dress – Forever 21 (it’s nicer in the flesh, super-flattering). Worn with leggings and my Office boots (when will it be bare legs weather?!), my old tattoo style choker that I’m (clearly) obsessed with, a chilli pepper pendant that was a freebie at a jewellery shop in Siena and old earrings.

B2 90s

Saturday (was meant to be brunch but became linner): Zara tee, M&S shorts, almost old enough to vote by now Warehouse leather jacket, Primark backpack. The necklace was a Christmas present last year from my boyfriend. He got it at Sublime, a shop near my work that I’m kind of obsessed with.)

B2necklace

B2Stylish tee

Sunday lunch with my family: Asos dress (I used to wear this all the time, I feel like it’s a bit young for me now but I like the shape so much that it stubbornly remains a staple!)

B2floralB2floral3jacket

(Me in the same dress last summer. With my Warehouse jacket and Asos detachable collar)

Bonus:

Monday night yoga outfit. (Yes, I do yoga. No, I can’t believe it either.)

YogaJam

Trainers: Nike. The Jam T-shirt was a present from my sister who bought it at a school fair she attended, from Andy Jordan himself (this is only exciting if you are an overly obsessive Made in Chelsea fan. Which I am) 😀

Happy Hump Day!

So, I cut my hair. And it’s short. Like short short. Like ponytails are a thing of the past short. Like tucking it behind my ears is a distant dream short. Like just when I thought the overzealous hairdresser had finished, I heard a buzzing noise as she started razoring the back of my neck and had a mini nervous breakdown short. So anyway, I am not completely convinced. I fear my face may be just the wrong side of “I really enjoy doughnuts” for hair this short. And I feel my goal to look grungy and badass may have somewhat failed since as soon as I got home my sister (bless her, she was trying to be nice on account of me having texted her a panicked message from the hairdresser’s that may or may not have included the word bald. Not that I am at all melodramatic) exclaimed “Oh my gosh, it’s so cute, you look just like MUM!”

But, on the plus side, I have discovered that I much prefer it wavy and messy to the bouncy, straight ‘do I had upon leaving the salon which is excellent news for my morning lie-in. And I figure that in about 6 weeks, it’ll be just right.

In the meantime I will be busy trying to convince myself that I look like this:

So, it happened again. What my dad affectionately refers to as my “accidental shopping” problem. It starts innocently enough. I go out, usually with the intention of simply getting from A to B, sometimes to buy a birthday present for someone or to help a friend find the perfect seduction underwear to take on a scientific research trip to Peru (don’t ask). I won’t shop, I think. You could call me naïve but the truth is that I’m clearly lying to myself and we all know it. And that is how I end up tonight, on my bed, grinning avariciously at my purchases, like a kid in a candy shop, a magpie in Swarovski, Cruella in Doggy Day Care.

Clearly I have a problem. And so I thought, what would be better? Should I a.) Become less obsessed with fashion? Or b.) Start a blog where I can ramble endlessly about clothes, jewels, bags, footstools (yes, I love them!), shoes and just about anything else that takes my fancy, thus further feeding my rampant lust for style and general fabulousness?

You’ll never guess what I went for… Read the rest of this entry »
